Volunteer of the Quarter Loves Animals

by: SOLitude Lake Management   |   Oct 18, 2018

    Regina Brimmer

Through SOLitude’s corporate volunteering and community outreach program, The SOLution, the company has named Regional Administrator Regina Brimmer of Charlottesville, VA as the Volunteer of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2018.

Regina volunteers regularly and was very active in July, August and September through various charitable and volunteering events supporting her community. She is passionate about animals and donates much of her time to Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue, a non-profit that provides a home for aged and disabled horses, donkeys and mules, and rescues those in situations of abuse, neglect and slaughter. Regina’s continued farm work and fundraising efforts help the organization create a caring atmosphere for the animals, as well as identify adoptive families.

Regina - Hope's Legacy VolunteeringRegina also donates her time to many other animal organizations like the Charlottesville Albermarle SPCA, and regular events, including PetSmart adoptions, Pedal for Paws fundraisers, and Bark in the Park programs.

“The SOLution program and the company’s dedication to stewardship are some of the reasons why I chose to work for SOLitude,” Regina said. “Visiting those sweet animals is the highlight of my week!”

Additionally, Regina serves as a Volunteer Team Captain who helps lead and encourage other staff in her area. Through her role, she identifies volunteering opportunities that allow her local team to serve the community. Most recently, she organized a road-side trash clean-up in Charlottesville.

Regina logged 36 volunteer hours in the third quarter, bringing her total hours for the year to 45. In 2017, SOLitude staff volunteered more than 3,000 collective hours. Preceding Regina as Volunteer of the Second Quarter was Aquatic Biologist Brea Arvidson of Shrewsbury, MA.

The SOLution is a company-wide program that encourages the company and all employees to strive to “create a better world” through volunteerism, community outreach, sustainability and environmental consciousness. SOLitude’s company leadership feels it is important to not only be good stewards of the environment and good corporate citizens, but also to fulfill company core values to “take action and be accountable” and to “protect and respect nature.”
