Bill Kurth, a Regional Director in Florida, has more than 34 years of extensive experience in lake, pond and wetland management. Bill specializes in providing innovative treatment solutions for clients using new products and technologies, and has managed waterbodies for many of his local community associations and clients for 25 years or more.
Bill attended Tallahassee Community College and Florida State University, where he earned a degree in Business Management. He began his industry career as an aquatic applicator with a Florida-based aquatics company, where he quickly became responsible for the technical training of all new employees, and was promoted to the position of Branch Manager of the company's Ft. Myers branch within 4 years. Bill then moved to Cape Coral Florida in 1987, where his expertise in herbicide technology and ability to sell and manage while also performing aquatic applications allowed Bill to grow his branch by 400% in 8 years. In 1999, Bill moved on to the then newly-formed Lake Masters Aquatic Weed Control, where he served in many roles, including Branch Manager, Director of Operations and Vice President of Operations. Under his leadership, Lake Masters became one of the premier lake management companies in Florida before merging with SOLitude in 2018.
Bill is a multi-year board member for the Florida Aquatic Plant Management Society (FAPMS) and has served as a member of the North American Lake Management Society. He has presented at FAPMS on Control of Exotic Melaleuca Trees, and Recognition and Control of Golden Algae; at the UF/IFAS Aquatic Weed Control Short Course on the control of exotic species in Wetlands; at NALMS on Aquatic Weed Control in Florida; and has spoken at SePro Annual Business Conference on the use of Sonar herbicide in irrigation and other lakes, and on the efficacy of Captain XTR algaecide. He served on the Advisory board for SePRO, and has won awards for Best Management Practices, Sustainability, and Applicator of the Year in 2007. Bill was also named Outstanding Business Partner by the Bonita Bay Group and is a certified erosion and illicit discharge inspector.
Bill’s love of the outdoors is evident through his many hobbies, which include boating, fishing, diving, and travel. He also has a passion for cooking and gardening, and has been heavily involved with aquarium-keeping for most of his life, including live reef aquariums with living coral. Bill was an active little league coach for nine years as his boys, William and Alex, were growing up. Today, he and his wife, Carolyn, reside in Cape Coral, FL. They recently became grandparents and love to spend as much time as possible with family.
Regional Sales Manager
Josh McGarry is a Regional Sales Manager who helps oversee business development efforts across SOLitude’s Sarasota and Sun City territories. He enjoys helping and educating clients, developing his team, and speaking at industry conferences. He is passionate about supporting his colleagues and being a good steward to the environment by restoring wetlands and waterways to a natural and healthy state.
Josh earned a Master Naturalist Certification from the University of Florida, and holds a Florida Green Best Management Practices certificate. He has more than 10 years of experience working with SOLitude.
Josh was born-and-raised in Aurora, NY, in the Finger Lakes region.
Business Development Consultant
Marti Veatch is a Business Development Consultant based in Central and North Florida. Marti joined SOLitude in 2018 to help support the team’s territory growth across the region and educate property owners about sustainable lake, pond and wetland management solutions.
Marti graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia. Before joining SOLitude, Marti worked for a modular robotics systems manufacturer where she initiated and closed sales for Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), modular robotic systems and cameras for use in confined spaces and hazardous environments. She built relationships with key decision makers and matched customers with the right solutions for their needs while providing ongoing customer assistance and support.
Outside of work, Marti enjoys spending time with her husband and her two dogs. She enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, birding, boating, snowboarding, stand-up paddle boarding, going to concerts and festivals, and riding her Triumph Bonneville.
Alberto Florez is a District Manager and lake, pond, wetland and upland specialist with more than 25 years of year-round experience managing invasive aquatic and terrestrial weeds in Florida. Alberto specializes in the management of challenging plant infestations with sustainable treatment strategies and has restored hundreds of acres of interconnected waterbodies throughout his industry career. Alberto has also contributed to studies focused on expanding cost-effective and sustainable plant management options, and regularly advises SOLitude’s biologists and technicians on proper equipment maintenance and local, state and federal environmental regulations.
Outside of work, Alberto can be found enjoying the outdoors through kayaking, hiking, cycling, running and spending time with his family.
Assistant District Manager
Anthony is an Assistant District Manager who oversees the management of nearly two thousand acres of lakes and canals on the treasure coast. He regularly works with property owners, homeowner’s associations and golf course superintendents to develop sustainable treatment strategies for their waterbodies, and educates them on the benefits of keeping their waterbodies clean and healthy. Through regular continuing education opportunities with industry leaders, Anthony stays informed on new technologies and trends in the management of nuisance algae and invasive aquatic weeds.
Elizabeth Mardy is an Account Representative who works regularly with clients to help them develop custom management plans for their waterbodies.
Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Science. She attended the State University of New York College of Environmental Science & Forestry before going on to serve as a FLCC OPS Exotic Crew Park Ranger in Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park for a year. In the role, she identified many invasive and exotic species in different environmental conditions, and is experienced in designing sustainable management plans for the removal of undesirable plant species. She also recruited and educated volunteers to help mechanically remove exotic species in specific areas at the prairie and Okeechobee Battlefield Historic State Park.
Additionally, Elizabeth is experienced with utilizing specialized equipment to conduct surveys and apply herbicide applications, including ATVs and swamp buggies. She is also accomplished in the use of GPS technologies to keep records of treatment sites and progress.
In her spare time, Elizabeth can be found spending time with friends and family, watching Netflix, playing video games, exercising, hip-hop dancing, practicing Kenpo Karate, listening to music, going to concerts, visiting Disney or Universal Studios, and looking at houses that are for sale.
Senior Aquatic Specialist
Robert Brautigam is a Senior Aquatic Specialist who helps support his colleagues and clients by ensuring that all services are provided efficiently and safely each day. He is knowledgeable about sustainable freshwater management solutions and is a licensed aquatic pest control and public health applicator. He joined the SOLitude team in 2006.
In his spare time, Robert enjoys spending time with loved ones and vacationing. His family especially enjoys cruises.
Luke Allen is an Aquatic Biologist who supports his clients by prioritizing the balance of their freshwater resources and serving as a knowledgeable resource when questions arise. Luke is proud of his efficiency and innate desire to build upon aquatic management approaches by integrating new technologies and innovations as they become available.
Luke earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Coastal Environmental Science and Biology from the University of North Florida. Prior to joining the SOLitude team in March 2019, he volunteered at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. During that time, he sampled water quality, completed estuary fish identification, studied oysters and phytoplankton, and monitored harmful algal blooms.
Luke has many certifications, including CPR-AED-First Aid. He also has his Aquatic Pest Control Commercial Applicator license, a SCUBA license and a boating license. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active at the gym and visiting his fiance. He has many hobbies, including cosplay, hunting, SCUBA diving, playing Pokemon, video games, guitar, piano, and martial arts.
David Boren is an Aquatic Specialist with nearly 20 years of industry experience. Since he began his career with SOLitude in 2000, David has helped restore and manage thousands of lakes and ponds throughout Florida. He has extensive experience providing sustainable solutions for algae and aquatic weed problems, poor water quality and excessive nutrients. David is a valuable source of knowledge for clients and is instrumental in ensuring their lake and pond management goals are met and exceeded.
Prior to joining the SOLitude team, David earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Science degree in Psychology & Communication. He also attended numerous military schools focused on intelligence gathering.
In his spare time, David enjoys shooting at the gun range, riding his motorcycle and traveling on cruise ships.
Samuel Smith is an Aquatic Specialist focused on aquatic weed control and natural areas weed management. He is knowledgeable in aquatic plant and noxious weed identification and is accomplished in designing and implementing sustainable management programs to enhance the natural beauty and health of lakes, ponds and wetlands.
Samuel has experience with the interpretation and implementation of federal, state, and local environmental statutes and regulations. His knowledge and experience in meeting the requirements of regulatory programs allows him to provide efficient and cost-effective solutions for clients, while ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability.
Outside of work, Samuel likes sports and spending time with family.
Rito Robledo is an Aquatic Technician with more than 18 years of experience working in the lake, pond and wetland management industry. He focuses on enhancing the health and beauty of preserves and littoral zones in Florida, and is experienced in the removal of nuisance and invasive aquatic plant species. He serves as a knowledgeable source of industry information for clients interested in sustainable management strategies, colleagues and new hires.
In his free time, Rito enjoys traveling with his family and playing sports, especially soccer, basketball and golf. He also likes to read and regularly studies the bible.
Moises Rodriguez is an Aquatic Specialist who specializes in the management of lakes, ponds and wetlands using environmentally responsible strategies and solutions. He is accomplished in the identification of nuisance aquatic plant and algae species, and works with clients to design and implement long-term management plans for their waterbodies that promote the health of the ecosystem. In addition to having his Aquatics License, Moises Is certified in Boating Safety and has a degree from Palm Beach State College.
Outside of work, Moises likes to spend time with his family and dogs outdoors. He enjoys fishing, hiking and enjoying nature any chance he gets.
Jules Stahon is an Aquatic Specialist and SOLitude Video Ambassador with nearly 15 years of industry experience. He has an extensive background in the management of nuisance aquatic weeds and algae in central and south Florida, and serves as a knowledgeable resource for clients and industry peers interested in learning about the state’s diverse water system.
Jules has many industry licenses and certifications, including his pilot and drone operator license, and commercial aquatic herbicide license.
In his spare time, Jules enjoys flying, photography, video-editing and spending time outdoors (as long as it’s not August)!
Mark Wano is an Aquatic Specialist with nearly 20 years of experience providing sustainable lake and pond management solutions to clients throughout West Palm and surrounding regions. Mark is a licensed Commercial Aquatic Herbicide Applicator in Florida and specializes in nuisance aquatic plant identification and treatment strategies. He has a bachelor’s degree in Education.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Sandy. They like to go to the beach, watch movies, and play sports like golf and basketball. He also likes to work out at their local gym.
Jonathan Peddicord is an Aquatic Specialist who manages lakes and ponds for nuisance aquatic weeds and algae. He is licensed in aquatic pest control and takes pride in his natural curiosity and willingness to improve upon common freshwater management practices by implementing new tools and technologies.
Jonathan joined the SOLitude team in June 2019. In his free time, he enjoys playing with his dogs, reading, building computers and going to the gym. He also likes to play hockey and snowboard.
Perry Clemis is an Aquatic Specialist who joined the SOLitude team in 2017. Perry focuses on providing sustainable lake, pond and wetland management services and is a knowledgeable resource for colleagues and customers. Perry has extensive experience as a master naturalist and gardener, a commercial driver and commercial pilot.
Outside of work, Perry enjoys volunteering, cooking and propagating rare fruit trees.
Dion Crooks is an Aquatic Specialist who helps clients achieve their unique freshwater management goals. Dion plays an integral role in implementing custom aquatic maintenance solutions that target the growth of invasive weeds and algae, enhance water quality and balance the health of natural ecosystems.
Prior to joining the SOLitude team in 2007, Dion gained experience working in the construction industry. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing and spending as much time as possible with his family. They like to watch movies and TV shows together. They also love visiting Disney World.
