SOLitude Gives Back Through Thanksgiving Program & Company-Wide Volunteering Day

In 2012, SOLitude created the Little GOBBLERs program to ensure deserving families in the communities we serve have safe, fulfilling Thanksgivings. This month, SOLitude volunteers collaborated with 30 schools across the country to identify those in need and deliver more than $7,500 worth of grocery store gift cards to 300 families. Since the inception of the program, Little GOBBLERs has reached more than 2,100 families.

“Giving back to those in need is such a special feeling,” Hannah Gentry, Community Outreach and Communications Specialist said. “Seeing the way Little GOBBLERs impacts families is incredible and being a part of it is even more so!”

Giving Back with Heart & SOL Day

Volunteer efforts continued this month with SOLitude’s 4th annual Heart & SOL Day, in which each of SOLitude’s colleagues were encouraged to take up to four paid hours during the workday to contribute to community service initiatives that resonate with them – these included post-hurricane clean-ups, assisting food pantries, animal shelters, and nature sanctuaries, and supporting conservation projects. Over the course of four hours, colleagues helped 12 different organizations, generated 288 volunteer hours, picked up 2,000 pounds of trash, and packed almost 4,000 pounds of food.

Being A Part of The SOLution

“Little GOBBLERs is one of my favorite SOLution programs to volunteer for. The amount of gratitude that is received from the schools really shows the impact this program has on these communities,” Kirsten Driscoll, District Support Specialist says. “Knowing that we are able to help these families for Thanksgiving is the most rewarding part of it all.”

Little Gobblers and Heart & SOL Day are annual outreach initiatives supported by The SOLution, SOLitude’s dedicated community service program. The company’s third initiative, HOLiday Cheer, takes place each December to provide gifts and resources to deserving children over the holidays.

Since The SOLution was founded in 2012, SOLitude colleagues and their families have contributed more than 20,000 collective volunteer hours and more than half a million dollars to charitable efforts and organizations across the country.
