Co-Volunteers of Quarter Two Clean-Up Local Beach

Through SOLitude’s corporate volunteering and community outreach program, The SOLution, company leaders have named Field Operations Manager Ean Sims and Senior Aquatic Biologist Eggy Suarez the Volunteers of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2022. As active members of the SOLution, Ean and Eggy have dedicated their time to keeping their local Florida beaches clean and involving colleagues and their families.

Keeping Their Local Beaches Clean

Throughout the quarter, the two were a part of clean-ups that spanned more than a mile of shoreline and collected more than 30 pounds of trash. The organization, Keep Lee County Beautiful, often recognizes Ean and Eggy’s work on social media to show their appreciation for their efforts. All Adopt-A-Shore clean-ups the team participates in are dedicated to a former colleague, Jim Dougherty, that passed in 2020. Ean and Eggy have exhibited a passion for bettering their community and care for the environment through their time with the SOLution.

“[Eggy] has taken a real interest in the beach clean-up efforts and devoted significant time to this project,” says District Manager Bill Kurth. Eggy’s science background is a big help in the activities the Fort Myers team participates in. Bill Kurth also comments on Ean Sims’ involvement with the company and with the SOLution. “He goes above and beyond to volunteer to help our community in many ways, keeps our team scheduled and motivated to participate in many activities,” says Kurth.
