Ed Bass

Regional Director

Ed Bass leads Operations in the North and West territories for SOLitude. Ed has more than 30 years of experience in mid and senior level leadership roles in the transportation, warehousing and specialized logistics industry, leading large operational, sales and account management teams with great success.

As a business owner throughout the 1990s Ed successfully operated a 48 state truckload business that grew to over 450 tractor trailers, employing over 500 Colleagues including administration staff, Drivers, Sales, Account Management and dock operations teams.

Before coming to Solitude Ed spent the previous 15 years with Iron Mountain Records and Information Management where he held several leadership roles including District General Manager overseeing the Texas and Oklahoma operations.  Director of Transportation for Iron Mountains North American operations consisting of 95 Districts operating over 3,000 routes per day in a service industry. Most recently for the previous 7 years, Ed held a Regional Director role in the companies Secure Destruction business unit with direct responsibility for 42 transportation depots and 8 shred plants operating in 22 states.  In this role Ed and his team of over 600 Colleagues achieved a number of recognition awards including Region of the Year for exceptional financial, customer satisfaction,  operational excellence and safety performance in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Raised in New Mexico Ed spent all of his free time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping where at a young age he gained a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Today he and his wife and high school sweetheart, Tonya live on a large lake southeast of Dallas Texas where they spend much of their spare time outdoors and on the boat with family and friends.

Wes Allen

Environmental Scientist & District Manager

J. Wesley Allen is an Environmental Scientist and District Manager with more than 12 years of experience working in the stormwater, wetland and aquatic management fields. During his career, he has been responsible for managing more than 450 ponds, wetlands, and environmentally-sensitive areas. From small stormwater ponds to large development projects, Wesley applied his experience and technical expertise to ensure client goals are met while following all applicable state, local, and federal regulations. He also permitted and completed multiple shoreline stabilization and wetland restoration projects.

Wesley spent most of his life in Milford, DE, and received his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. He continued his professional training by completing the Advanced and Basic Wetland Delineation Course at Environmental Concern, ASTM Phase 1 and 2 training, Delaware Certified Construction Review Course, Delaware Nutrient Management Certification Course, Filtrexx Green-Technology Best Management Practices Training, and various other continuing education opportunities. He has also completed AquaMaster fountain and aerator field service technician training and is a SePRO Preferred Applicator.

Wesley is a licensed aquatic pesticide applicator in Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Prior to joining SOLitude, Wesley managed an Environmental Consulting firm and was responsible for significant growth in their overall business during his tenure. Wesley’s diverse knowledge base and focus on customer service make him an asset to any organization.

A native of Delaware, he developed a love and respect of the outdoors while spending his youth hunting, fishing and hiking all over the Mid-Atlantic region. While not at work, Wesley can be found in the wetlands, waters, and fields of Delmarva with his Labrador retriever. Waterfowl has been his passion since first introduced to a goose pit at the age of eight. Wesley has spent time volunteering for Ducks Unlimited and Habitat for Humanity and plans to focus his charitable efforts on habitat enhancement and restoration projects in his home state of Delaware. He also enjoys fishing, hiking, and boating with his friends and family.

Todd Prater

Operations Manager (DE, MD, PA), Aquatic Scientist

Todd Prater is an Aquatic Scientist and Operations Manager with more than a decade of industry experience. Todd serves clients in SOLitude’s Mid-Atlantic market with a special focus on implementing sustainable and environmentally sound lake and pond management programs. Todd has an extensive background in the crop protection industry, and has worked in the research and development of many herbicide and insecticide products offered on the market. He is also a certified pesticide applicator in multiple Mid-Atlantic states where his diverse knowledge base in the herbicide market makes him an asset in environmental safety.

A native Delawarean, Todd received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Natural Resources from the University of Delaware. While not at work, Todd can be found hunting, fishing or crabbing near or on the Chesapeake Bay. He enjoys spending time camping, hunting and hiking with his wife Lindsey and his two Brittany Spaniels Dottie and Travis.

Kevin Shank

Operations Manager (NJ, PA), Aquatic Specialist, Video Ambassador

Kevin Shank is an Operations Manager, Aquatic Specialist and SOLitude Video Ambassador serving SOLitude’s Mid-Atlantic market. As a large lake project manager, Kevin works with clients to develop effective and sustainable approaches to their waterbody goals. He has worked in a variety of settings, including large lakes and wetlands, and takes a special interest in upland invasive plant control, electrofishing, bathymetric mapping, aeration services and water quality monitoring and testing.

Prior to joining SOLitude, Kevin graduated from Penn State University and East Stroudsburg University, earning degrees in History and Geography before serving in the United States Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Kevin has always enjoyed being out in nature, and spent his youth in western Pennsylvania outdoors. He also enjoys sharing his love of the outdoors with his wife, Spring, sons, Marshall and Grayson, and dogs, Duke and Daisy.
