Volunteer of the Quarter Worked With Youth and Student Groups
October 24th, 2019
Through SOLitude’s corporate volunteering and community outreach program, The SOLution, the company has named Digital Marketing Specialist Ysabella Bhagroo of Virginia Beach as Volunteer of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2019. Bella has been active through various volunteering and youth events from July through September.
Bella (second from right) volunteered for Habitat for Humanity with her Virginia Beach colleagues. The team helped frame the first floor of a home being built for a family in need. Through the program, home recipients are provided the tools they need to be successful homeowners.
Bella also volunteered extensively through different youth and student efforts. She served as an area representative for Youth For Understanding, an organization that works with international foreign exchange students and their host families. She continued her efforts through her church by hosting small group meetings, rebuilding their website and producing videos. Finally, she spoke about her career path with a student through the Life Sciences Communication Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Bella rounded out the quarter by donating blood with the American Red Cross and raising money for a local back-to-school drive to which she was able to donate $150 worth of supplies.
Bella earned a total of 62.5 personal volunteer hours through 20 events in the third quarter. Preceding her were Assistant Regional Manager Errol Walsh and Aquatic Specialist Scott Dye who were named co-Volunteers of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2019.
“Bella is extremely dedicated to serving her community through The SOLution program,” Director of Marketing Tracy Fleming said. “She truly embodies SOLitude’s mission to make the world a better place.”
The SOLution is a company-wide program that encourages the company and all employees to strive to “create a better world” through volunteerism, community outreach, sustainability and environmental consciousness.
