The Problem:
New ownership of this 0.7-acre pond prompted a restoration effort to reverse years of ecological decline and muck accumulation.
Key Issues:
- Significant accumulation of muck.
- High phosphorus levels.
The Objective:
- Revitalize the pond for the new owner.
- Reduce accumulated muck and enhance water quality year-round.
- Restore desirable aesthetics and visibility.
The Solution Overview:
A biweekly TryMarine Water Quality program was implemented from May to September. The treatment focused on aggressively reducing phosphorus in the sediment and water column to restore balance to the ecosystem.
The Results:
By October 2025, the pond was clear and productive. The most significant impact was seen in the sediment’s “Free Phosphorus,” which is the most readily available form for fueling algae and water quality issues.
