Repair Erosion Damage with SOX Erosion Systems

SOX Erosion Solutions designs, manufactures, and distributes patented bioengineered erosion control systems that immediately stop and repair shoreline and hillside erosion, while promoting vegetation growth. SOX Erosion Solutions offers two systems to help restore lake and pond shoreline erosion: DredgeSOX and ShoreSOX.

Both systems feature a double layer of knitted polyethylene mesh, which can be filled with locally sourced organic material or sediment dredged from shallow areas. Upon installation, SOX creates a new, fully integrated, immediately solid and secure living shoreline.

Before & After SOX Erosion Systems

DredgeSOX System

DredgeSOX is made from a double layer of knitted high-density polyethylene mesh, which is filled by dredging sediment from the water body into the system. The DredgeSOX system integrates smoothly with the existing slope, providing long-term stability. After installation, sod or other vegetation can be planted to enhance the system’s stability through root growth.

ShoreSOX System

The ShoreSOX Erosion Control system effectively stops soil erosion and re-stabilizes shorelines and hillsides by utilizing an open-ended containment system filled with locally sourced materials. Once secured, the system immediately stabilizes shorelines. ShoreSOX enhances the visual appeal of the area, improves lake and pond ecosystems, and helps reclaim lost land. This reinforced stabilization also reduces safety risks for residents, workers, and staff.

Features of SOX Systems

RipStop
Tear-resistant, patchable mesh
Our knitted mesh is engineered with ripstop technology. If the material is punctured by a mower blade, the damage stays contained and won’t unravel; the tear remains a small, easily repairable hole. This makes it ideal for installations that require cutting around trees, pipes, or other infrastructure, maintaining the integrity of the system, even when cut or torn.

Modular
Customizable panel system
Thanks to its ripstop design, the material can be cut, sewn, and joined into panels of any shape or size. This modularity allows for custom configurations that adapt to the unique contours and needs of each site, much like assembling a tailored quilt for the landscape.

UV Stabilized
Sun-resistant and tested durability
Engineered for durability, the material is UV stabilized and tested under ASTM standards to simulate long-term sun exposure, even without soil or vegetation cover. It exceeds industry benchmarks, especially in high-stress environments like steep slopes and shorelines, ensuring long-lasting protection and support for vegetation growth.

Lightweight
Easy to carry and install
Despite its strength, the material is remarkably lightweight; two people can easily carry a 100-foot roll. With no need for heavy machinery, a single person can quickly unroll, drag, and position it on-site, keeping labor requirements low and the process efficient.

Weightbearing
Walkable and drivable slope
While lightweight, the system becomes weightbearing as water washes the sediment into the system and creates instant compaction. This provides immediate stabilization, making the surface safe to walk or even drive on, ideal for active job sites.

Slope Integration
Natural slope conformity
Unlike systems that require regrading or sit awkwardly on top of terrain, this solution integrates directly into the existing slope. It minimizes site disturbance and conforms naturally to the landscape, offering a more seamless and environmentally sensitive alternative to traditional methods like riprap or Geotubes.
