SOLitude’s Little GOBBLERs Program Helps Hundreds at Thanksgiving

Through its corporate volunteering and outreach program, The SOLution, SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the Eastern United States, donated $2875 in turkeys and grocery store gift cards to 138 under resourced families.

This year, SOLitude’s ‘Little GOBBLERs‘ program increased 10 percent over 2013. Eleven elementary and middle schools located in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, Fredericksburg and Charlottesville, VA, Raleigh, NC, Lincoln, DE and West Grove, PA identified a need for Thanksgiving meal donations within their schools. The schools and families were extremely grateful for SOLitude’s assistance at this time of the year.

In addition to giving turkeys, the SOLitude team donated time to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank to assist in preparing bags for under resourced families. The team assembled 1,140 bags of food to be distributed to 21 schools to fulfill food needs over the Thanksgiving break.
