The Technical Services Team is dedicated to researching and implementing new innovations and products that enhance our sustainable lake management service offerings. They ensure that both colleagues and clients are informed about these new offerings and innovations, and they provide technical training and support for team members.

Marc Bellaud

Director of Technical Services

As Director of Technical Services, Marc Bellaud is focused on advancing SOLitude’s momentum as an industry leader by upholding our commitment to continuous education, teamwork, a superior customer experience, and premium service offerings and technologies. From leading the charge on drone applications for remote or sensitive environments to enhancing our toolbox of water quality management solutions with Oxygen Saturation Technology, Marc is passionate about bringing new technologies to SOLitude. Throughout his 27-year career, Marc has been actively involved in cultivating the science of aquatics as a good steward and widely-respected thought leader. His passion for protecting water inspires his guidance of the SOLitude team.

Marc graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in biological sciences and a concentration in natural resources. He worked for two non-profit organizations before joining the aquatics industry in 1993. His knowledge and responsibilities as a field biologist quickly expanded, culminating in his promotion to SOLitude’s company leadership team in 2013.

Marc has extensive experience designing and leading integrated aquatic plant management programs throughout the Northeast. He has authored dozens of lake management plans and feasibility studies and is a contributing author and co-editor for the third edition of the BMP Manual produced by the Aquatic Ecosystem Research Foundation (AERF). He regularly shares his knowledge and experience as a presenter and speaker at industry conferences.

Marc is a Past-President and Director of the Northeast Aquatic Plant Management Society (NEAPMS) and has remained involved with the organization since it was initially founded. Marc also served as a Director of the New York State Aquatic Managers Association (NYSAMA). He is actively involved with several state organizations focused on lake management issues. In 2006, Marc received the SePRO Applicator of the Year award.

Marc was born and raised in New Hampshire. From an early age, he developed a love of the outdoors where he grew up skiing, fishing, playing ice hockey, and spending summers at Squam Lake, which remains one of his favorite places to visit. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, and the family dog. He and his family are very active with sports and over the years Marc has dedicated much of his time to coaching youth hockey and assisting with their local Boy Scout troop.

David Riedl

Technical Services Manager, Environmental Scientist

David Riedl is an Environmental Scientist and the Technical Services Manager for SOLitude. David has extensive experience managing aquatic ecosystems and he applies that knowledge to research new products and innovations in the aquatics management industry. He is also responsible for educating and training team members on these new tools.  Before becoming the Technical Services Manager, David was a District Manager where he oversaw operations in his district. He is also a SePRO Preferred Applicator, a certified applicator for “Right of Ways” in Virginia, and an AquaMaster-trained service technician.

Before joining SOLitude, David worked for Portsmouth mosquito control where he learned basic pesticide application procedures. He then took a job at the King George Landfill as a research technician where he was charged with the task of treating landfill leachate. There, he learned much about water quality, wastewater treatment, as well as pump troubleshooting and maintenance.

David resides in Richmond, VA. A native to the Fredericksburg, VA area, David graduated from James Monroe High School in 2005 after taking a real interest in his AP environmental science class. David continued his education at Christopher Newport University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science in 2009.

David enjoys cooking and eating dinner with his father, a retired engineer, his mother, a resource teacher, and his grandmother on a weekly basis. David enjoys playing soccer and lacrosse in local leagues, and he and his brother, Bill, a software engineer in Sacramento, California, enjoy traveling around the country to find the best places to snowboard. David has also played the drums for more than 15 years, but has yet to find a venue for this talent.

Keith Gazaille

Senior Project Manager

Keith Gazaille is an aquatic ecologist and Senior Project Manager for SOLitude Lake Management’s New England region based in central Massachusetts. Keith has worked in the lake and pond management industry since 1998 and has been responsible for the design, permitting and implementation of hundreds of management programs across the Northeast. His direct project experience includes fisheries and wildlife habitat improvement, aquatic, wetland, and upland invasive species control, water quality enhancement, nutrient management, aeration, dredging and watershed management. Keith is a licensed aquatic pesticide applicator in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut and also holds Mosquito/Biting fly and Right of Way pesticide certifications in Rhode Island and Connecticut, respectively. He is also a Certified Invasive Species Manager by the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council and is experienced with feasibility assessments and regulatory compliance monitoring and reporting.

Keith has served as the lead project manager for many of SOLitude’s larger and more sensitive projects in the Northeast, having developed and performed invasive species control programs and rare and endangered species habitat management for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, The Nature Conservancy, MA Fish and Wildlife’s Natural Heritage Program, US Army Corps of Engineers, The Audubon Society, RI Fish and Wildlife, and the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation. He is active in a number of professional organizations such as the Northeast Aquatic Plant Management Society and the North American Lake Management Society. Through his involvement with these organization and other continuing education programs, Keith stays current with the latest technologies and management protocols.

Keith received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a Wildlife concentration from Framingham State University in Framingham, MA, in 1995. Prior to beginning his lake management career with Aquatic Control Technology, Keith worked under a state grant to collect data on the nesting and fledging habits of federally threatened piping plovers on Martha’s Vineyard. He also served as an operations manager for an area property management company that provided landscape maintenance, turf management and invasive species control services.

In his spare time, Keith’s hobbies and interests include saltwater fishing, waterfowl hunting, woodworking and boating. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Haley Canady

Lab Biologist

Haley is a water quality Biologist for SOLitude. Her area of focus is in providing laboratory assessments of lake samples. By providing observations of the lake’s nutrient levels and characteristics, recommendations are made for ways to improve the health of lakes and ponds. Haley’s day-to-day tasks include preparing samples and necessary reagents, testing the samples on various instruments, and compiling the data into reports for the customers. Haley has a degree in Ecology for Environmental Science from the University of North Texas.

She was born and raised in Texas and recently moved out of state for the first time to Florida. She enjoys going to the beach and the pool. In her free time, Haley likes to bake and cook, especially when she’s learning different cuisines. She also enjoys playing tennis and watching the big tournaments on tv.
