Through SOLitude’s corporate volunteering and community outreach program, The SOLution, the company has named Aquatic Biologist Ean Sims of Fort Myers, FL, as Volunteer of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2020. Ean helped lead many impactful volunteering initiatives from April through June.

As an active member of The SOLution program, Ean plays an important role in identifying volunteering efforts for SOLitude’s Southwest, FL, office. He stepped up immensely at the start of the COVID-19 crisis and rallied his family and colleagues to contribute their time and support to frontline workers.

For example, he initiated and organized an appreciation parade for his colleagues’ family members and loved ones involved in the healthcare field. Likewise, Ean and his family coordinated a social distancing food drive in their neighborhood, donating their collections to the Gladiolus Food Pantry in Fort Myers. Finally, Ean played an important role in the kickoff of the Hometown Heroes program, an initiative that SOLitude helped launch this spring, with its parent company, Rentokil, to recognize essential employees for their exceptional efforts in the response to coronavirus. Through the program, Ean and his colleagues delivered desserts and goodies to the Growing Room Child Development Center in Fort Myers and Hope Hospice Center in Fort Myers and Cape Coral.

Ean is currently the 5th most active volunteer across the company. In the first two quarters of 2020, he generated 71 personal volunteer hours. Preceding him was Aquatic Specialist Robert Finnick of North Florida who was named the Volunteer of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2020.

“Ean is a shining example of SOLitude’s mission to serve, ” Director of Marketing & Communications Tracy Fleming said. “By stepping up during these challenging times, he has exhibited profound leadership and an extraordinary commitment to our local communities.”
