Volunteer of the Quarter Writes Handmade Cards to Local Senior Citizens
Through SOLitude’s corporate volunteering and community outreach program, The SOLution, company leaders have named Customer Service Representative Veronica Biro, the Volunteer of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2021. As an active member of The SOLution, Veronica has dedicated her time writing handwritten cards to senior citizens in the Citymeals on Wheels program in the Bronx, NY.
From January to September, Veronica has written 185 cards to elderly neighbors in the Citymeals on Wheels program. The organization delivers meals to frail-aged New Yorkers, ensuring they never go a day without a nutritious meal and a warm visit.
“Veronica always puts people first. She has a nurturing spirit and does many things to make the world a better place, making cards for the elderly is just one of them,” said Customer Experience Manager Dr. Tara M. Gamble.
“She consistently gives her time and talents selflessly to those who are the most vulnerable in our society. The elderly not only benefit from her efforts but our team, company, and community do as well. I am proud to have her on our team.”
The SOLution is a company-wide program that encourages and rewards colleagues for volunteering in their local communities. In 2020, SOLitude colleagues generated more than 2,900 collective hours and $23,074 in donations.
