SOLitude Offers Free Lake Makeovers, Celebrates Earth Day

by: SOLitude Lake Management   |   Apr 29, 2019

    Love Your Lake - SOLitude

SOLitude Lake Management is accepting nominations for free lake and pond makeover services through the company’s Love Your Lake program. The annual initiative aims to support non-profit charities and foundations in dire need of recreational lake and pond restoration, with the goal of improving outdoor experiences for disadvantaged or special needs children, disabled individuals, or veterans and service members.

Love Your Lake nominees must be considered a non-profit with a waterbody that serves as a centerpiece for foundation activities. The selected lakes or ponds suffering from severe nuisance aquatic weeds and algae, nutrient loading or associated water quality problems will receive the in-kind services and product donations necessary to make the waterbody functional and beautiful again.

Love Your Lake is backed by The SOLution, a company-wide program that strives to “create a better world” by encouraging volunteerism and community outreach, underscored by an emphasis on environmental sustainability and preservation. In addition to Love Your Lake, The SOLution encompasses an array of outreach initiatives throughout the year:

Little GOBBLERs - SOLitude works with guidance counselors and principals at various elementary and middle schools to offer turkeys or grocery store gift cards to help selected under-resourced families have a healthy and happy meal on Thanksgiving.

HOLiday Cheer – SOLitude’s staff, vendors, and social media followers help raise funds to provide holiday gifts to deserving families going through a difficult time, as well as children spending the holiday season in the hospital.

Earth Day Clean-ups – Throughout the month of April, SOLitude’s team completes nationwide trash clean-ups and environmental projects focused on preserving the health and beauty of our local communities. SOLitude’s 2019 Earth Day efforts include the following:
