This property is located within a high-end development in Broomfield, CO, and includes several beautiful homes overlooking the pond. The pond was constructed as part of the development as a recreational and aesthetic asset for homeowners. It serves as the focal point for the small homeowner’s association and the expectations for its appearance are high. The pond is also used for boating and fishing.
Scope of Work:
In previous years, before SOLitude began managing the waterbody, the pond would develop Watermilfoil growth that covered 30-40% of the pond and would hinder angling and negatively affect the community’s aesthetics.
Highly selective ProcellaCOR EC was selected as a method to achieve lasting Watermilfoil control and achieve the goals of the community. A spring application was completed when milfoil stands were about 3-4 feet tall. Over the next several weeks, significant amounts of dead fragmented milfoil were observed on the windward shoreline and all milfoil stands disappeared.
About a month later, the pond experienced a planktonic algae bloom which was assumed to be the result of a shift of nutrients from the eradicated Watermilfoil. The algae bloom was treated using an environmentally-friendly product, which showed significant results within days. The pond has maintained a beautiful appearance for the remainder of the season and the clients are extremely satisfied with the results.
