SOLitude Lake Management Expands with Acquisition of AquatiCO in North Carolina

by: SOLitude Lake Management   |   Jun 09, 2016

06.08.16_AquatiCO_Acquisition_2_e.jpgSOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the United States, has expanded in North Carolina with the acquisition of AquatiCO, Inc. located in Shallotte, NC, between Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC.

AquatiCO, founded by Michael Norton, has been managing aquatic resources for clients in Brunswick County and surrounding areas within North Carolina and South Carolina since 2008. Michael, along with Nic Butler, an aquatic specialist with AquatiCO, have joined the SOLitude team. They bring with them a broad range of lake and pond management experience, with a particular focus on aquatic vegetation control and stormwater pond management.

Michael, a Professional Engineer, is also the owner of Compass Pointe Engineering, a civil and environmental engineering firm located in Shallotte, North Carolina. Through his expertise and a strategic partnership with Compass Pointe, SOLitude’s in-house engineering resources will be further strengthened and will allow the company to better serve clients with stormwater engineering needs.

Michael Norton began working in the lake and pond management industry as a Licensed Applicator in 1996. He has a varied and impressive background in engineering, aquatics and business management. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from East Carolina University. Through the service provisions of AquatiCO and Compass Pointe, Michael has been involved in the design, permitting, certification, inspection and maintenance of stormwater management systems for over a decade. He also offers expertise in land planning, site design, water and wastewater infrastructure permitting, stormwater management and erosion control. At SOLitude, Michael’s responsibilities include retaining and expanding territory services in the southeastern North Carolina region.

“We’re extremely excited to join SOLitude Lake Management. I became acquainted with Kevin Tucker and members of the SOLitude team nearly two decades ago, and have always been impressed with their focus on quality of service, as well as sincere interest in employee satisfaction and individual growth,” said Michael Norton. “Our decision to join forces with such a reputable firm seemed only natural given our current business needs, as well as the similarity in our goals, culture and desires for serving in this industry.”

“I couldn’t be happier to have Michael Norton and his team join the SOLitude family,” said Kevin Tucker, CEO of SOLitude Lake Management. “They have always focused on providing clients with the best value in lake and pond management products and services through superior customer service and expertise, and we’re proud to have them represent the SOLitude brand throughout coastal North and South Carolina.”
