SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the Eastern United States is seeking nominations to assist a non-profit organization located from New Jersey to South Carolina whose lake is in dire need of an ecological restoration and “makeover” for their “Love Your Lake” initiative. The recreational lake at Camp Holiday Trails was plagued with watermeal and other nuisance aquatic vegetation (shown in top photo). After a “lake makeover” from SOLitude Lake Management, the lake was restored to a healthy state (shown in bottom photo) and recreational activities could resume for the children and camp counselors.
Through their community outreach program, The SOLution, SOLitude Lake Management has assisted non-profit organizations return their lakes or ponds to a useable and healthy waterbody. Camp Holiday Trails, in Charlottesville, Virginia, was the recipient of a recent “lake makeover.” The lake was plagued with nuisance aquatic vegetation, specifically watermeal, which completely limited the children and counselor’s recreational use of the lake. A series of water quality enhancing treatments as well as submersed aeration was added to the waterbody and the lake was restored back to a healthy state.
“[Your] restoration effort will help ensure that hundreds of kids with special needs, and those who have the honor, joy and inspiration of working with them, will benefit from the Camp Holiday Trails experience this year,” said Tina LaRoche, Executive Director of Camp Holiday Trails.
The SOLution is a company-wide program that encourages the company and all employees to strive to “create a better world” through volunteerism, community outreach, sustainability and environmental consciousness. SOLitude’s company leadership feels it is important to not only be good stewards of the environment and good corporate citizens, but also to fulfill company core values to “take action and be accountable” and to “protect and respect nature.” To participate or share a non-profit's goals for consideration in The SOLution, contact Tracy Fleming at email@example.com.
