SOLitude Donates $7,000 To Families Through “HOLiday Cheer” Program

by: SOLitude Lake Management   |   Dec 19, 2016

holiday-cheer-va-chkd-the-solution-e.jpgThrough its corporate volunteering and outreach program, The SOLution, SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the United States, donated games and toys to health stricken children and gift cards, toys, games, clothes and other necessities to under resourced families in Madison and Norfolk, Virginia; Pine Hill, New Jersey; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Fort Plain, New York and Spencer, Massachusetts. In the program's fifth year, the 2016 total HOLiday Cheer donation totaled $6,798, which exceeded 2015 donations by 36 percent.

SOLitude continued their partnership with B-Strong Foundation this holiday season to assist families with children who have been diagnosed with cancer at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). SOLitude also supported the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, Massachusetts, and the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, Virginia. SOLitude donated over $1,500 total to these hospitals in toys and games, which increased $10 for every new social media follower SOLitude received in the month of November.

These families, which include eleven children in total, were selected by SOLitude staff, clients and faculty at local schools based on nominations showing a true need for cheer and financial support during a very trying time. The adopted families were nominated by Community Management Services Group (CMSG) in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Madison Emergency Services Association (MESA) in Madison, Virginia, and a local school counselor in Fort Plain, New York. Employees on the SOLitude team generously purchased items from the children’s wish lists to include items such as warm clothes and shoes, games, puzzles, books, dolls and sports gear. Each family also received a Target gift card and other retail gift cards to allow them to purchase additional household items and groceries for the holiday season.

SOLitude also supported several under privileged children throughout the communities they serve by donating to Toys for Tots in Massachusetts, along with donating Christmas turkeys and toys to 50 families with elementary aged school children in Virginia.

“Our HOLiday Cheer program enables us to embrace our core values and to bring some much needed joy to deserving children and families who are suffering physically and emotionally,” said Tracy Fleming, Directory of Marketing at SOLitude. “We are extremely grateful for the generosity and support of our team, clients, vendors and friends. We could not do all that we do without them.”
