Earth Day 2013 - Your part starts at home » Finding small, yet significant, ways to conserve, reuse, protect and sustain the environment, and the place you occupy in it, can be easy. Just start at home. The planet will thank you.
I started this business out of my love for water and the outdoors, a desire to preserve our natural resources, and a belief that there was a huge unfilled need for the quality services we offer. Virginia seemed like a very big place back in 1998 when I decided to start this company, and thus, Virginia Lake Management Company was born. Today, Virginia is but one of the many states we service throughout the United States.
Through our history, we have had a singular focus on providing our clients with the best value in lake and pond management, through superior service and a focus on technological and scientific innovation. Like many businesses, this one began small…one man, with some occasional part time help, working out of his home office and garage, with a truck, small boat and other necessary equipment. In 2000, I opened my first office. In 2002, I hired my first two full time staff. I am proud to say that both of them are still with me to this day, and are two of my most valued colleagues. From there, we have continued to grow, adding staff and offices throughout the areas we service. Today, we have a staff of 15 incredibly talented people, servicing clients throughout 8 states, with 4 physical offices scattered throughout these states.
Our incredible success and growth has brought us to a point in time in which I felt it necessary to redefine for our customers and the overall market who we are, what we stand for, and where we are going. As part of this process, we have chosen a new name for our company, one that better reflects the principles that define us and the markets we serve. It is with great anticipation and excitement that I introduce you to SOLitude Lake Management.
SOLitude sol-i-tüd, säl-i-tüd n – 1: the harmony found with sun, self, land and water through appreciation and preservation of lake and freshwater ecosystems. 2:the peaceful calm resulting from the reflection on and centering of self through the restoration of ecological balance. --- syn. see also Virginia Lake Management
We very much look forward to the journey ahead, and thank all of our clients and others who have been so instrumental in our success. We have and will remain your environmental partner, working with you every day to improve water quality and preserve your natural resources, reducing our environmental footprint, and leaving our world a better place.
