SOLitude Adds Industry Expert, Vic DiCenzo, to Growing Fisheries Team

August 12th, 2016

Vic DiCenzon, PhDSOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the United States, is pleased to welcome fisheries biologist, Vic DiCenzo, PhD, to their growing fisheries team. Vic has over 20 years of professional experience in fisheries management and will serve as an integral member of the SOLitude family.

Vic DiCenzo earned his PhD in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. He received his Master of Science degree in Biology from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee, after earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries Science from Virginia Tech. As a fisheries biologist, Vic takes a quantitative approach to fisheries management and is experienced in designing and implementing studies to collect fisheries data from lakes and ponds, and developing recommendations for clients for the sustainability of their aquatic resources.

Before joining SOLitude Lake Management, Vic previously served as a district fisheries biologist in Texas and Virginia, where he managed public fishing lakes, reservoirs and large rivers. As a state fisheries biologist, he gained valuable experience managing largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, crappie, catfish, striped bass, white bass and sunfish. Vic is a member of the American Fisheries Society and the North American Lake Management Society. He has published numerous research articles related to fisheries science and has presented his research results across the country.

“We’re excited to have someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Vic join our team,” said Dave Beasley, Director of Fisheries. “His expertise in fisheries management will be invaluable as we continue to expand our progressive fisheries management techniques.”

SOLitude Lake Management develops customized fisheries management plans to meet the individual needs of their clients, whether their goals involve catching trophy fish or simply having access to consistent and reliable fishing. The fisheries biologists at SOLitude note that one of the most important aspects of fisheries management is habitat, which is made up of both the physical and biological aspects of the aquatic ecosystem. Services offered by the company include fish stocking, supplemental fish feeding, water quality management, algae and aquatic weed control, electrofishing studies and bathymetric mapping. SOLitude also assists with any necessary permitting to ensure that clients’ lakes and ponds are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
